According to Nutritionist, this Health Food Just Spend Your Money!
You already know that bagels, soda, candy and potato chips instead of including foods recommended by nutritionists. But, there are some other foods that are also not recommended.
You might be surprised because these foods are, by many, considered a healthy food.
Yogurt with additional flavorings
Yogurt is a good source of calcium and protein. However, Isadora Baum, health consultant and founder of Live for You Now Coaching says, it is better if you choose a plain yogurt. If you want to add a sweet taste, use fruits and honey.
Some types of yogurt with additional flavorings, sugar equal to the candy. Save your money by buying plain Greek yogurt or plain yogurt.
vegetable chips
The label "vegetable" may tempt those who are determined to live healthy. But, try to check the ingredients on the packaging, usually chips (type or any flavor) starchy foods such as potato starch, corn starch, and soy flour, says Cynthia Sass, RD, a nutritionist and author of Slim Down Now.
This means that one serving of vegetable chips pick calories nearly as much with potato chips.
salad dressing
Salad dressing is oil processed, added sugar and artificial coloring, said Megan Roosevelt, RD, founder and host of The Healthy Grocery Girl Cooking Show.
Better make your own salad dressing using olive oil, vinegar and spices.
Not only more healthy, homemade also cost you less than buying salad dressing in the shop.
Juice
Juice, especially juice packaging, does not offer as many fruits and vegetables nutrition intact. They give you a lot more extra sugar, which means extra calories as well, says Natalie Rizzo, RD, a nutritionist in New York City.
Gluten-free packaged foods
Unless you have been diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, there is no reason to buy gluten-free foods, says nutritionist Samantha Lynch, RD.
Gluten-free packaged foods are not really necessary for a healthy diet. Instead, Lynch recommends that you avoid the consumption of packaged foods too often.
